The M605 is not just a radio. It’s a system that allows the user choices on how to set up the radio with up to three stations. Boaters can now add an exclusive complete display as another station on the vessel along with two COMMANDMICS™. The full featured M605 also gives customers the option of the radio with an integrated AIS receiver. The best just got better. All functions of the IC-M605 (including DSC and distress operation) can beremotely controlled with up to three controllers, RC-M600 COMMANDHEAD and/or HM-195 series COMMANDMIC™, with an intercom functionavailable among the main radio and controllers. The system allowsfor maximum operating flexibility anywhere on your boat.
A combination of the directional keypad and soft keys providessimple operation. Most used functions are assigned to soft keys (atthe bottom of the display) for quick one push function access. The largeten-key pad enables you to smoothly enter channel numbers, MMSI numberswith ID names and so on.
The IC-M605’s internal speaker enhances intelligibility of receivedcalls. The waterproof, paper speaker-cone provides superiorsound quality with a wide frequency range and a flat frequency response forpowerful, yet clear audio.
A weak signal adjacent to a strong signal can be clearly received bythe IC-M605. Its commercial grade receiver performance (selectivityand IMD: more than 80 dB) provides reliable communication at all times.
The GNSS (GPS, GLONASS and SBAS) receiver is integratedin the IC-M605. Position information can be simply receivedwith connection to the supplied GNSS antenna with 5 m cable, UX-241.
The Active Noise Canceling digitally removes backgroundnoise from both transmit and receive audio and provides clearcommunication in a noisy maritime environment.
When connected to the optional horn speaker, SP-37, youcan talk with crews on the deck or shore from the radio’smicrophone and can hear any reply via the horn speaker. Also availablethe RX hailer function and four patterns of automatic foghorn.
The last call voice recording function automatically saves up to twominutes of an incoming call. Don’t miss any incoming messages.
Using NMEA 2000™ connectivity, the radio can exchangeGNSS, AIS reports, DSC call information data, radio frequencyand PGN list data on the network. NMEA 0183/-HS GNSS position datacan also be converted to NMEA 2000™ data for other equipment
With an optional voice scrambler unit, UT-112, the IC-M605provides 32 tone secure conversation. This function is usefulwhen you want to share private information with consort ships.
With an integrated AIS receiver, the IC-M605 can show real-time AISvessel traffic information on the display. The AIS combo screenenables you to monitor the AIS plotter during basic operation. You can directlycall a selected AIS target from the AIS screen using an individual DSC call.
