The LightArmor line is Attwood’s current generation of LED navigation lights, replacing the older incandescent and earlier-LED Attwood lights with longer-life, lower-power, more durable LED engines.
Combined masthead and anchor light. The 24″ all-round white light serves two regulatory functions depending on operating mode. Underway, it functions as the masthead all-round white light required by COLREGS Rule 23 for power-driven vessels under 50 meters. At anchor, the same light functions as the anchor light required by COLREGS Rule 30 for vessels of any size to display while anchored outside designated anchorages. The combined function is what makes 24″ all-round lights the standard choice for typical recreational power vessels in this size class – one light, two regulatory roles.
For vessels up to 65.4 feet (20 meters). The 3-nautical-mile visibility rating qualifies this light for power-driven vessels up to 20 meters / 65.4 feet length overall – the typical recreational boat range from runabouts and walk-around fishing boats through mid-size cruisers and sportfishers. Vessels over 20 meters require longer-range lights (5+ nautical miles) under COLREGS, so this light is NOT appropriate for vessels above 65.4 feet. Verify your vessel length before relying on this light for compliance – undersized navigation lights are a Coast Guard violation and a real liability concern in any night-running incident.

When you don’t need the light (transport, storage, lower-bridge clearance situations), the light pulls out of the PowerBase and stows separately. The base stays on the boat with a low profile that doesn’t interfere with anything.
NOT compatible with other Attwood mounting systems. The 7800-24-7 only works with the PowerBase. It does NOT fit the older Attwood plug-in base, the universal threaded fixed-mount, or competitor universal navigation light bases. Verify you have the PowerBase or are willing to purchase the PowerBase separately before ordering this light. Quick-disconnect convenience. The PowerBase quick-disconnect is the killer feature for boats with bridge clearance issues OR boats stored in covered slips / garages OR boats trailered overnight. Pull the light out of the PowerBase, store it inside, no clearance issues. 24-inch pole length. The 24-inch overall length puts the light at the right height for typical recreational power-vessel masthead positioning – high enough to clear cabin tops and other on-deck obstructions for proper visibility, short enough to fit on cabin tops without excessive overhang. Polished stainless steel shaft. The light pole is polished stainless steel – corrosion-resistant, structurally strong enough to handle the wind loads on the light at full speed underway, and visually appropriate for the typical recreational boat aesthetic. The polished finish stays attractive over years of marine use without the cosmetic degradation that powder-coated alternatives suffer.
Sealed lamp head. The white lamp head at the top of the pole is sealed against water intrusion via gasketed construction. The seal handles direct rain, spray, and the inevitable washdown water during boat cleaning. For boats stored at outside slips with constant exposure to weather, the sealed construction is what keeps the LED alive over years of use.
Install. Mount the PowerBase 6100-LT-7 (sold separately) to the boat at the appropriate masthead position – typically cabin top center, hardtop center, or radar arch top. Wire the PowerBase to the boat’s 12V navigation light circuit through the appropriate switch and fuse (typical install uses a navigation light selector switch on the dash that switches between OFF, NAV LIGHTS (red / green / stern + masthead all on), and ANCHOR (just the masthead all-round on).
